About Me
As an emerging artist inspired by the breathtaking landscapes and intricate details of the outdoors, I strive to capture nature's essence in my work.
Whether it’s the vibrant colors of a sunset or the gentle rustle of leaves in the breeze, my art reflects the beauty that surrounds us.
Creating art provides me with a therapeutic outlet that calms my mind and enhances my well-being. My eclectic approach combines various techniques—cut paper, wood, pastel pencils, and mixed media—allowing me to push my creative boundaries.
Each piece of art I create is a heartfelt expression of my passion for nature, and I strive to connect with others who appreciate art that stirs their own creativity.
I did not have formal schooling to learn art, and in this way I am self-taught. Each time I want to create artwork, I explore new avenues to expand my skills. I continually take classes both in the community and online to learn new art techniques. I am motivated to experiment with methods that I think are interesting and would like to incorporate into my art practice. Moving back and forth through different mediums keeps me engaged.
I started making art when I was in high school, and after receiving an award for my work, I started creating more.
Today, I ebb and flow with the amount of work I am making; when actively creating, I spend about five hours per day. Otherwise, I am thinking through processes and how to move forward.
To help me, I keep an art notebook where I record my ideas to come back to later.
I have participated in many public art exhibitions for the past decade. To name a few: 2025 Artability awarded me Best of Show, and I will be their Art Ambassador for 2026.
2024 I was awarded Best of Mixed Media by Artability. Also, my artwork was chosen as the logo for the MN Social Services Association conference in 2019.
I have exhibited artwork at Fresh Eye Gallery in Minneapolis and multiple locations in Bemidji, St Croix, Minneapolis, and St. Paul.
And this year I enjoyed teaching an art classes in a community setting.
